Life Day 22607: A Rude Awakening.

I’ve often been quoted as saying: “I may be getting older, but I refuse to ‘grow up’.” All of that changed Sunday night, May 31st.
I had been feeling ‘poorly’ for a couple of days, and it got progressively worse until, about 1800, I drove myself to the Emergency Room at Pioneer Valley Hospital. Within minutes of my arrival, I was taken back to a room, and 10 minutes after that, I was in formed that I was in the process of having a heart attack. I was immediately
taken into surgery. They used Angio Plasti to install 2 stents. After the procedure, I was taken to the intensive care unit.
When I had recovered form the ordeal, about 0900 Monday morning , I remembered that the MMM were in the truck, and had been for over 15 hours by this time. I asked the nurse to contact Security. The officer arrived about 15 minutes later and I explained the situation to her. She agreed to walk the ‘guys’ and call the Humane Society and have them picked up and held until I was released. About ½ an hour later, she was back. Evidently, Walter was not having any strangers in ‘his daddy’s truck’ unless “daddy” was there. It was arranged for me to be wheeled out to the truck by the nurse so I could calm them so she could get their leashes. A while later, the Officer from the Humane Society visited me and said the MMM were safe and would be taken care of, without charge, because it was an Emergency situation.
On Tuesday (mid) afternoon I was transferred to the Cardio unit on the 3rd floor. I had a huge room all to myself. I was disconnected from everything except the heart monitor so I could easily move about, and after being flat on my back for the better part of 2 days, I took full advantage.
