Life Day 23573: Nutty Day

Either of these days is a reason for celebration of it’s own accord in my humble opinion. I plan to go “nuts” and celebrate both.
It is also Spouses Day. If you are married and chose to do nothing special for Spouses Day, you’re “nuts”.
Life Day 23572: Opposite Day
January 25, 2012 on 8:52 am | In Homefront | No CommentsGood morning everyone. Today is Opposite Day. If it seems like everything you do today is going wrong, you now know the reason. Just grin and bear it, things will hopefully improve tomorrow.
It is also National Irish Coffee Day. A couple of cups of Irish Coffee this morning might just help you survive Opposite Day. Like my Jewish Grandmother used to say, “It couldn’t hoit”.
Life Day 23571: Compliment Day

It really highlights the color of your eyes”. “Dude, Have you been working out? You look buff”. These are all examples of compliments, which is apropos because today is Compliment Day.
Today is also Lobster Thermidor Day. If you can afford to buy Lobster, congratulations, you are probably part of the 1%.
Additionally, it is National Peanut Butter Day. If all you can afford is Peanut Butter, congratulations, you are probably part of the 99%.
Finally, today is Beer Can Appreciation Day. Swill down a can of Lager or Pilsner (or a few of each), then sit back and appreciate the vessel that contained that golden nectar.
Life Day 23570: Measure Your Feet Day

When is the last time you practiced your penmanship or wrote someone a letter? If it has been a while, stop procrastinating, get that old box of stationery out of your desk, and write a letter because today is also National Handwriting Day.
Finally, when is the last time you had a slice of pie? If it has been a while, stop procrastinating, and bake a pie or visit ye olde local pie shoppe today because today is also National Pie Day.
Oh yeah, I almost forgot. Happy Chinese (Lunar) New Year everyone. It is the “Year of the Dragon”. I suddenly have a craving for Egg Drop Soup.
Life Day 23569: Blonde Brownie Day
January 22, 2012 on 9:25 am | In Homefront | No CommentsGood morning. There is only one “Holiday” to celebrate today, and in my humble opinion, it is hardly worth mentioning. Today is Blonde Brownie Day. If you are going to put forth the effort to make Brownies, why on Earth would you omit the one ingredient that makes it worthwhile, Chocolate, and substitute Light Brown sugar? This does not Compute!! Anyway, should I decide to make (or purchase) Brownies today, rest assured that they WILL contain Chocolate. Enough said.
